| Let's say you have a have a checkers partner. You and your partner have been playing checkers together for years. Started up a tag team league and everything. You guys can predict each others next move before it happens. You've won a few tournaments and had an article written about you in Board Game Warriors Magazine. Things are good and you two are loving life. Then one day, over a pre-match meal of jelly beans and hot cocoa, your partner, a bit intoxicated from the sugar, reveals to you that before he met you, he had broken his index finger on his playing hand in a freak "King Me" accident during a middle school tournament. You're obviously devestated and feel like you've been lied to for years. And even though you've never seen any negative results from the previous injury, you can't look him in the eye any more, knowing that his checkers finger is flawed. You dump him and find a new partner. But you never again regain your playing prowess. The devestation was too much and you fall from grace in the checkers world. Your life is over.
